We offer a range of online group supervision services to meet the requirements of Provisional Psychologists undertaking:

  • 4 + 2 provisional psychologist pathway
  • 5 + 1 provisional psychologist pathway
  • clinical psychology registrars seeking endorsement
  • early career psychologists and health practitioners for CPD purposes

Our online group supervision services are available Australia-wide and allow for a cost-effective and efficient way to meet psychology supervision requirements and an opportunity for you to connect and network with other Provisional Psychologists. We are passionate about providing a nurturing learning experience where psychologists are supported to learn and grow into the profession.

Our online group supervision is delivered during business hours, primarily aimed at lunch periods, so as not to eat into early career psychologists’ personal time.

If you sign up for a group session and, for whatever reason, are unable to attend, we will provide you with a copy of the presentation slides and handout materials from the supervision session within 48 hours of the session date and time, which you can instead count as Professional Development hours instead.

Online Group Supervision

Capped at 5 participants in line with AHRPA requirements.

If you are interested, we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Topics and Content

A large proportion of the topics that we cover in our Group Supervision sessions are derived from the National Psychology Exam (NPE) Recommended Reading List and Exam Curriculum, as the exam questions are derived solely from the curriculum.

Our aim is twofold: to alleviate some of the stress associated with this crucial part of your formal training and to provide support for your study preparations.

The NPE is just one tool that the Board uses to assess the minimum required level of applied professional knowledge of psychology, and it is broken down into the following four domains:

– Domain 1: Ethics (including applied ethical and professional reasoning)

– Domain 2: Assessment (including methods and approaches)

– Domain 3: Intervention (including intervention selection and implementation), and

– Domain 4: Communication (including communication and reporting skills).

In 2024, we are concentrating our Group Supervision sessions on Domain 3: Understanding Psychological Interventions (outlined below). One of the main reasons we have chosen this as a focus area is that with enhanced knowledge in this domain, participants can put their knowledge into practice during their internships, which reinforces their study preparations for the NPE.

To support our supervisees undertaking the National Psychology Exam, our Psychology Team continue to develop educational materials similar in style and depth of content as seen in our Group Supervision session content outlines below but on an online self-paced platform, due to be released mid to late 2024. If you like our approach, enjoy our content style, and would like more information on our National Psychology Exam Study Course or would like to express your interest in accessing it, please click here.

When you book any of the Group Sessions you will receive:

– ‘Add A Secondary Supervisor’ Form for you to complete which autmotically generates your letter for you to take to your Primary Supervisor for signature before submitting to AHRPA. You can add our Board Approved Supervisors Krisite, Dean or both – just make sure to submit this to AHRPA before your session so you can claim the hours!

– Link to the Zoom invite for your chosen Group Supervision session.

– Link to request access to this Group Supervision session’s slides and handouts in advance of the session. Access is granted within 24-48 hours if not before, and you have access to these materials for a one month period. Some participants like to review the materials before the Supervision session, however this is not necessary and you do not need to prepare anything in advance of this Group Supervision session – you just need to show up. In fact, the only reason you would need access to these materials is if you wish to reflect on them pre or post session, or for any reason you are unable to attend this Group Superivsion session you may log your time reviewing these materials as Professional Development instead.

Content Overview for each sessions is as outlined above.

Upcoming sessions are highlighted below. We encourage interested attendees to reserve their spot as soon as possible as groups are limited to 5 participants maximum in line with AHRPA requirements.

Our group supervision sessions serve as an educational exploration of the subjects presented and as an introduction to various topics only, and we encourage participants to access one day, two day or longer skills building professional development workshops to explore the topics further to gain proficiency.

Fees

Group Supervision is a more cost effective way to access Supervision which we charge $100 + GST / per hour.

Please note that all Group Supervision sessions are 2-hour sessions.

For all Group Supervision sessions with us, payment is required at booking time in advance of the session to secure your spot.

How many hours do you need?

  • 5 + 1 Provisional Psychologists are permitted to have 30 hours group supervision (that is the equivalent to 15 group supervision sessions)
  • 4 + 2 Provisional Psychologists are permitted to have 80 hours group supervision (that is the equivalent to 40 group supervision sessions)
If you are interested in us helping you to plan your group supervision sessions for the coming year, drop us a message and we can help organise and plan that for you.

How do I get started?

To count your group supervision hours towards your internship plan, your first step is to add one of our supervisors to your internship plan as a Secondary Supervisor. We can help you do that.

We have two Board Approved Supervisors on our team – Kristie Clarke and Dean Smith – both run all of our online group supervision services.

When you book in for a specific Group Supervision session, you automatically get a copy of the letter that you need to add that supervisor who is running the session, to you internship plan.

You can add a secondary supervisor by submitting a formal letter to AHPRA via the online upload services.  The letter will need to outline the name and registration number of your new secondary supervisor (Kristie or Dean) and it must be signed by your Primary Supervisor.

To make your life a little easier (and we understand how demanding provisional psychologist internships can be!) we have done some of the work for you so you will only need to complete three simple steps:

1. Once you book in for any of our Group Supervision sessions, you automatically receive a booking confirmation email and within that, a link to complete a “Add a Secondary Supervisor Form.” Just pop in your details and when you click submit, you recieve a copy of the letter that AHPRA requires will be sent to your email.

2. Email this letter to your Primary Supervisor for signing.

3. Submit the signed version to AHRPA.

It really is that simple and straightforward.

For Professional Development only?

If you are just wanting to access these sessions for Professional Development hours then you don’t need to go through the adding Krisite or Dean as a secondary process and you can just book in for your session and attend.

We send you the session content including the presentation slides and handouts so you can review in your own time, at your own pace.

How do I book in?

Secure your place at one of our Group Supervision sessions by using the BOOK ONLINE option below and selecting GROUP SESSIONS.

We look forward to seeing you there!
