Bita Farahani is an accredited Occupational Therapist (OT) who has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years in a variety of clinical settings. She has worked in disability, community mental health and aged care clinical support.
Bita is a Registered member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Occupational Therapy Australia and the International Society for Neuroregulation & Research.
Bita is an enthusiastic practitioner, passionate about working with children and their families. Bita offers Occupational Therapy to children and families with a focus on social and emotional well-being, mental health, child behaviour and parent coaching. Bita’s considerate and perceptive nature, as well as her warm and genuine care, makes children and families feel at ease. Bita is also passionate about helping teenagers and adults regulate brain function and improve symptoms of neurological and mental health challenges. In conjunction with her clinical OT experience, her clinical work draws on various professional disciplines such as Neurotherapy, neurofeedback training and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Alongside Bita’s Occupational Therapy Qualifications, she is a Certified Neurofeedback Trainer. She has a Master in Medical IT Management, which lead her to become interested in research, advanced technology and assistive modalities to support the body and brain, to improve their functions. She has contributed to the research in the field and published an article on Electromyography (EMG) Signal Characterization.
In recent years she has worked predominately with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds who have been diagnosed (or undiagnosed) with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD) and the impact of stress and anxiety on cognitive functioning such as sleep and working memory. She offers support mechanisms within group-based therapy programs and individual sessions in Brain Training Australias Perth clinic.
